The August monthly meeting attracted a large audience as Bevan Anderson, the founder of Avplan flight software, gave an interesting and informative presentation detailing this great pilot aid. Bevan was able to answer even the most intricate questions off the cuff. He gave a sneak preview of some of the new features to expect in the next edition of the software including a version to run on Android devices.

During August the build team at Dr Dan’s hanger have been beavering away building the fuselage and cabin area of the Sonex club plane. It is expected that the wings and engine will be fitted in during  September.  Anyone still interested in being involved come along to a workshop session or contact me via the website contact page.

In September the Sport Aircraft Club events are visit to the Adelaide ATC (Air Traffic Control Centre) at 6:15pm on Wednesday 24th and the film night Sunday 21st  at 3:45pm to see “The Maze Runner”.  You get a movie and finger food meal for just $33.50 You can buy your tickets at the next club meeting on 10th of this month.

At the September 10th club meeting we have world-renowned speaker Dr Brett Gooden giving us a presentation on the development of the pressurized space suit. Book your meal early it is a chance to chat with other aviators and meet the speaker. Also find out about the flying events coming up in November.
