Presidents Report April 2013

The April club meeting was a well attended event:

Don Fraser reported on the building of Dean Wallace’s RV building project in Queensland (Dean a former club member who moved to Queensland and is building an Vans RV 12). Don showed how the roller door from is garage door accidently damaged a wing to such an extent that it had to be replaced.
We heard a report from Andre Mielke on the recent Beachport –Lake George flying. Andre gave presentation supported by an excellent video which showed the joy flight circuit from various camera angles and the four wheel drive with vision taken from the front of his four wheel drive capturing the experience of climbing sand hills and cruising remote beaches.
Ed Herring updated us on the RAA national fly in at Temora and the trials and tribulations of being a board member of that organisation.
Trevor Chapman and Bob Scrymgour were acknowledged for their service to the club as council members.
On the 7th of April Jim Scritchley a hosted a workshop visit at his Gawler Airfield hanger -the event was well attended and we look forward to seeing his red RV8 flying.

There are a couple more workshop visits being scheduled for the next couple of months. The club council is looking at the viability of building and operating a club aircraft. Your council is preparing a project plan and aim to present this at the June meeting.
