Presidents Report – September 2024

Your president John Siebert is currently on holiday in Italy.

Last Tuesday, having just come out of Covid isolation, and being without the opportunity to get aboard an aeroplane for a few weeks, Greg Tabe offered me a flight in his Bristelle. I didn’t need a second chance.

We climbed rapidly out of YMBD and headed Southwest to the Coorong and flew along the beach at about 3500 feet just above an inversion layer. Great aircraft fitted with dual Garmin screens autopilot and all modern conveniences- even heated seats. The flight back to Murray Bridge provided a view of the green Spring countryside though it was a little hazy on the day. Back in the circuit at YMBD we joined downwind for 02 and we were soon back on the ground having lunch at the Murray Bridge Hotel reminiscing and looking forward to the next aviation adventure.

The club Bunnings BBQ is next Saturday 7th a Windsor Gardens. Please drop in for a snag if you are in the area. Good opportunity for those that haven’t yet volunteered for a stint to see the fun and comradeship that happens on the other side of the counter.

Also note the Copper Coast Flying Group Annual Flyin at Kadina on 15 September and the club flyaway to Boston Island is confirmed for 15 November.
