Presidents Report September 2015

During August the Club building project moved into high gear with members of the building group completing the polishing and preparing the aircraft for the last workshop visit which was on Sunday 16th August and well attended by members and visitors. The Sonex is now, thanks to Brian Degenhardt of Daytona Signs being fitted with its stripes and registration number which will be completed this Saturday. Barring any unforeseen holdup the aircraft should move to the club hanger at Murray Bridge on Saturday 12th September for its final fit up and preparation for test flying.

This month is the Clubs flyaway to Arkaroola on the 19th and 20th of September and with around 12 aircraft so far registered to attend will be an amazing way to see Spring in the northern Flinders Ranges. If you would still like to go contact Steve Nelson to see what accommodation is available.

The Clubs annual Christmas dinner is now only 2 months away and tickets will be available at the next 2 monthly meetings so get in early and support this event at a new venue this year.

Club meeting Next Wednesday  Speaker is Bernard Eckey – Self Launching Sailplane Engine Systems Evolution. Bernard has over 3,500 hours of gliding experience including multiple 1000km flights, holds a PPL, and has written a book “Soaring Made Easy”. Look forward to seeing you all for this great presentation. Don’t forget to book your meal with Steve Biele.
