The May club meeting had a good attendance and most of the members enjoyed the preceding meal at the Lockleys bowling club.
Pauline Crawford and John Dennis were welcomed as new members. Pauline’s aircraft is a Foxbat which is now hangared in the club-owned hanger at Murray Bridge. (There is space in the hangar for another small aircraft if anyone is interested.) John Dennis’s aircraft is a Sportstar.
Mike Holtby gave a report and presented photographs showing the recent fly-in event at the Harts Skypark near Port Lincoln. Everyone was impressed with the effort Mick and Di Hart went to in making this event memorable for the visitors. Photographs are in the gallery.
Chris Dearden gave an introduction and presentation about the new club website and answered questions from members. Chris has done an enormous amount of work setting up the website. As members and councillors start to use and take advantage of the built-in automated features, we will all become aware of the extent and depth of the site. I urge all members to check the site regularly to enjoy and inform themselves of the club activities.
Your president gave an update on the proposal to build and operate a club aircraft. Since then a survey has been circulated, the results of which will be presented by Chris Dearden at the next meeting. Please get your answers back as it closes next Friday. Also David Harris will present a slide show on the proposed project.
Don’t forget to look at the calender for flying and other events.

The modern airplane creates a new geographical dimension. A navigable ocean of
air blankets the whole surface of the globe. There are no distant places any
longer: the world is small and the world is one. ~Wendell Willkie
