Dr Brett Gooden gave an interesting and informative talk about the development of the space suit at the September meeting. His extensive knowledge and the polished presentation gave an intriguing look at the problems of space travel and the support of human life outside our normal environment.  – Dr Gooden has spent 10 years researching the German rocket power plane that was built near the end of World War 2 and has indicated that he could present his findings to the Sport Aircraft Club next year. Certainly a talk to not to be missed.

The club Sonex aircraft build project continues to progress. The wings have been fitted during September and the undercarriage and control systems are currently being installed. Get involved or come for a look if you are thinking of building your own aircraft.

Unfortunately the Adelaide ATC (Air Traffic Control Centre) event was cancelled due to increased security at airports related to terrorist threats.

The SAC film night was a success with around thirty people attending and watching the 1st release film “The Maze Runner” followed be a magnificent finger food  and drinks evening meal.

Next weeks meeting is the last one before the Christmas dinner meeting at the Edinburgh Hotel. Tickets will be available at $75 per head and includes a pre dinner drink as well as tea and coffee after the meal. This year we will be having a fun aviation quiz with prizes and awards but no raffle ticket sales. To make this event  a success we would like to see as many members as possible coming along and enjoy the end of year Christmas meal together.

Plenty of flying events coming up including a trip to Wentworth being organised by Pauline Crawford and Chris Malone make contact with the organisers via the club website. Other events include fly-ins to Robe and Clare.
