Next Wednesday’s club dinner meeting on the 14th of September will be given a presentation by Bas Sheffers from “Oz Runways”on their aviation software application. It’s sure to be a busy evening so don’t forget to book your meal early if your coming for dinner.
On the 20th of August on a farm South East of Karoonda Jeff Morgan and his DC3 hosted 12 or so aircraft from the Sport Aircraft Club and more members who arrived by road to view his amazing project. Complete with a movie about the aircraft and an engine start we were privileged to be taken through the the World War 2 history of the aircraft and its subsequent use as an airliner, charter plane and finally as a restaurant at McDonald’s Westlakes.
The aircraft is now well on the way being restored to its former glory by Jeff Morgan on his farm. Jeff also showed us other planes, a model aerobatic display including smoke and gave us entrance to a small transport museum he has set up on the same site. Thanks again Jeff for the presentation and also spoiling us with the home cooked cakes for afternoon tea. Another great event organised by Steve Nelson and enjoyed by all who attended.
If you would like to fly the club built Sonex get yourself into the flying user group, by asking one of the council, then download the documents from the website and book the aircraft using the web facility available to the flying group.
