The main club event for June was the Patrick Pulis RV10 workshop visit which I was unfortunately unable to attend. Greg Tabe attended and was impressed with the amount of work involved in building this aircraft and the workshop which he saw as a home away from home. Hopefully Greg or another attendee will elaborate at the next club meeting for those that couldn’t attend.
Coming up next Wednesday the 13th of July is the club meeting where we will be given a presentation by Mr Terry Clark on the Blue Streak missile project at Woomera. Get there for a great meal, interesting speaker and a chat with aviation minded friends.
The Sonex is now available to club members. Those that helped build it will have accrued flying hours and just need to pay for fuel. The conditions for flying are contained in the Standard Operating Procedures which will be available shortly on the club website.
On the 23rd of this month is the amazing cockpit tour of the F-111 fighter bomber at the aviation museum followed by lunch at the Birkenhead Tavern (close by). Expert guided tour by Steve Nelson (ex RAAF pilot). Get your name down if you haven’t already as we have quite an amount of interest in this event. The price including museum entrance, but not lunch, is $23 per person.
Other events coming up are DC3 visit – drive or fly to Karoonda on the 20th of August and then the Bendelby Ranges Fly-In on the 28th -30th October.
