Presidents Report – February 2026
Hello and welcome to the first Plane Paper news-sheet for 2026. I trust that everyone had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year break with family and friends.
Our programme for the year commences with our gathering at the West Adelaide Football Club for our dinner meeting on Wednesday the 11th of February. Unfortunately, our scheduled speaker, Bruce Mouatt, has had to cancel his presentation due to medical reasons. Retired Air Commodore Dave Pietsch has kindly agreed to talk to us about his gliding and RAAF career. Like Bruce, Dave specialised in air defence flying and flew the CAC Sabre, Dassault Mirage III O and the McDonnell Douglas F/A18 Hornet. Please come along and hear his story.
Our upcoming flying events include the following:
• Saturday 28th February – fly in and lunch at the Crown Inn Kingston SE
• Saturday 21st March – fly in and lunch at Keith SE hosted by member Peter Brookman
• Friday and Saturday 10th and 11th April – fly in and visit Eleanor Downs Station, Kangaroo Island
For those owning a Vans RV, the AGM of the RV Association of Australia is being held at Mittagong NSW on the 20th and 21st of March. Registrations are now open via the Association website.
The Club Safari for 2026 has been planned by Greg Tabe and will run from the 16th to the 30th of April.
The Annual General Meeting is fast approaching so I invite you to consider standing as Councillor for the upcoming year.
Finally, if you haven’t yet renewed your membership: a gentle reminder please to attend to this as soon as possible.
Safe Flying,
John Siebert
