Presidents Report – December 2024

Our recent overnight fly-in to Boston Island was a success despite the approaching front on the Saturday causing concerns about excessive cross winds for departure. In the event we were presented with strong winds for landing back at Murray Bridge and Goolwa.

An added bonus for our visit was a formation aerobatic display by the RAAF Roulettes demonstration team. See the photo gallery here.
From all reports the Christmas dinner was a success and I would like to thank all of those people that contributed their efforts to run the event. See the photo gallery here.

Our next event is the RFDS fundraising BBQ at Murray Bridge on Saturday the 14th of December (Note: Changed from 7th December). For catering purposes, please book in via the Club website. Friends and relatives are most welcome so please include those numbers when you book.

Your Council will be changing in 2025. Treasurer Greg Tabe and Secretary Chris Moore have advised that they will be stepping down after many years of service on the Council. Please consider coming onto the Council at the April AGM.

The upcoming activities are as follows:

  • The RFDS fundraising BBQ at Murray Bridge Aerodrome is planned for Saturday the 14th of December. (Note: Changed from 7th December).
  • Looking ahead, we are planning lunch fly-ins to the Barossa Valley and to Lameroo and an overnight to Kangaroo Island.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for 2025.

See you at the YMBD RFDS BBQ.

Safe flying.
