Presidents Report December 2014

Great News!!!

Early December we received notification from the Sir Ross and Sir Keith Fund that our application for the Fund to pay for instrumentation in the aircraft the club had been  successful and will provide $8000 for a basic glass cockpit. This means that further outlays from the club will be minimal to complete the Sonex two seat aircraft.

The monthly December meeting of the club was well attended and Mike O’Reilly gave an excellent talk on the development of the Yuneec Electric aircraft its purpose and efforts being made to bring it to the market. Mike also spoke on the availability of multi rotor drone aircraft and some of their amazing capabilities

The Sunday following the club meeting was the Club Christmas Brunch. Around 65 people attended as well numerous aircraft. Many Thanks to Steve Nelson for his great organisation of the event. and for running the Navigation Exercise. Also thanks To Geoff Eastwood for the use of Goolwa airport and facilities to run the event. And thanks to SAC council and others who helped  with food preparation  and on the day. Great picture on the club website.

The Sonex aircraft build is still ahead of schedule with the windscreen being fitted at the moment. Building resumes on the 6th of January after the Christmas break.

I take this moment to wish all Sport Aircraft Club members and very happy Christmas and a really great new year- keep those building projects moving. Many thanks to council members for their support in 2014 and we look forward to some new faces on the council in 2015.
