Hi Sport Aircraft Club Members,

Last month’s AGM saw the 2014 council re-elected except for David Harris who has retired  and Greg Tabe elected as a new member. Our thanks to David who has been on the council for around 10 years including a stint as president of the club. Welcome to Greg Tabe who is already a tireless member of the Sonex building group, an instrument rated GA pilot and an accountant. Thanks again to the other council members who have agreed to serve the club members for another year.  The council meeting saw the council members take up the following positions.

Steve Nelson – Treasurer, Tom Banko – Membership, Rob Wintulich – Photographer & meeting host, Steve Biele –  Meal coordinator for the club meetings, Chris Dearden – Website Manager, Greg Tabe – Secretary, Chris Moore – President.

On the 15th of April the club visited Chapman River Winery at Ante Chamber Bay on Kangaroo Island. The fly in weather was near perfect and 8 aircraft landed for a luncheon platter of local Kangaroo Island produce and a friendly chat.

The club Sonex aircraft  building continues with the instruments now in hand. Electrical wiring has commenced. Some builders have been polishing the aluminium parts, while others have been working on the engine cowl and preparation and painting of the fiberglass parts. A Sunday workshop visit is coming up soon so you can see what your club now owns. There is still time so let us know if you want to be involved in the building.
