Presidents Report March 2013

In February and March we have seen a number of aviation events and club activities.

The major club event being a fly in- the Beachport weekend, organised by Andre Mielke, where around 10 aircraft flew to Lake George and landed on the dry lake which is near Beachport in the South East of South Australia. The event was a joint function with the local four wheel drive club The Wattle Rangers. Joy flights were exchanged for 4WD sand hill touring and a cruise along the local beaches. It was a great time for all concerned. Pictures and movies of the event will be shown at the next club meeting.

The annual general meeting saw the retirement of two council members and the election of three new councillors. Trevor Chapman and Bob Scrymgour retiring- thanks for your support. Steve Nelson Steve Biele and Tom Banko are the newly elected councillors.

There are a number of workshop visits being scheduled for the next couple of months.

Your council has an exciting new proposal and direction for the club to be detailed at the next meeting -don’t miss it. Wednesday 10th April.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Roger Stokes who lost his life at the Parafield Air Show demonstrating his replica spitfire.

Happy building and flying,

Chris Moore
