Dear SAAA Member,

The Australian International Airshow 2015 at Avalon Victoria is scheduled for 24th February to 1 March 2013. The public days are 27th to 1st March 2013.

The SAAA will again have a presence at this Airshow for the public days and it presents a good opportunity for the SAAA to publicise what it does within the aviation community and promote homebuilt aircraft within the aviation sector.

As part of our presence at Avalon we require assistance from our membership to make it a successful exhibition for us,

We have an allocation for up to ten spaces for static display of our aircraft although more than this number can be accommodated.

In addition to the display Aircraft we also require volunteers to “man the tent” during our time at Avalon.

So how can you our membership assist.

1. We would like members with flying aircraft, past phase 1 flight testing, to consider flying their aircraft to Avalon for static display during the Public Days, The owner/pilot of all aircraft on display will get free passes (Four) for the Airshow, There are some conditions on aircraft and these can be found on the Airshow Website but basically they are,

a) All exhibits, including aircraft, must be complete and ready for exhibition by Thursday 26 February 1700hrs and remain in operation until Sunday 1 March 1800hrs. Exhibits, including aircraft must be cleared from site by Monday 4 March 1700hrs.

b) All aircraft must carry the required insurance.

c) Once parked in the static display area the aircraft cannot be removed until 1800Hrs on Sunday 1st March.

2. We required volunteers to “Man the Tent” and promote the SAAA to visiting members of the public. Passes are provided to all volunteers. We would like any volunteers to commit to a four hour shift in our Exhibition, outside of this time you are free to take in the rest of the Airshow.
