Hi

Our first Bunnings BBQ fundraiser for the year turned out to be our biggest one yet. Extra sausages had to be purchased on the day and drinks sold out completely, yielding a profit of $971 for the club. It was good to see 3 first time volunteers helping out. My thanks to all who helped and to Greg Tabe who organised the event.

We expect to be tasked to do one of these fundraisers at Bunnings Windsor Gardens about every 3 months. If you are willing to contribute about 4 hours of work to your club then the benefits can be substantial. Please see Greg to add your name to the helpers list.
Several South Australian RV Aircraft owners flew to Echuca Vic for the inaugural meeting of RV Aircraft Australia (RVAA). The brainchild of Alan Carlisle OAM, an RV14 owner, who felt the benefits of organising 600+ RV owners in Australia could be substantial. So far, about 200 have registered an interest in the Association with 60+ owners and their aircraft present at the meeting.

A committee was formed with Alan as President and SA local John Brumpton, Vice President. One of the tangible benefits of being a member is discounted aviation insurance with Agile Insurance.

Take a look at their website and you will be pleasantly surprised. I personally can save over $1000 per annum! They will even pay the $30 RVAA joining fee if you sign up for a policy.

The Association plans to run at least one annual flyin rotating around a different state each year. They are also looking at running an aerobatic clinic for those interested. A website is coming but in the meantime email Alan Carlisle if you want more information about joining.

Our next meeting is the club AGM on April 13th. By now you will have received the email notice containing the financials, nomination and proxy forms. It is important that we reach a quorum for the AGM to be valid, so if you are not sure you can make the meeting in person then please submit a proxy form to Chris Moore, our Club secretary.

There are no special resolutions to be voted on so the AGM should be brief. Following the AGM our normal meeting will resume.

Our guest speaker will be Matt Cosier, Head of Training RFDS Adelaide. He is one of the few people qualified on the new Pilatus PC-24 Jet now in operation with the RFDS. Come and hear his experiences on this game changing aircraft.

The Club flyaway to Port Macquarie via the coast departs on April 19th. 5 aircraft confirmed but if you are interested and can get accommodation then you can still join in. See Greg Tabe for an information package.

Blue Skies,

Steve
